Visual Remix creation of a Modern day triptych

description:

For this project you will appropriate images you find online and remix them into a triptych. This project is about appropriation & play. Play with different 'keywords' while searching for images. What kind of images do abstract words display? After you have downloaded a group of images look at how they correspond. Try to make connections. These images are going to be displayed in three seperate final image pannels that hang next to each other. How do you want to make the pannels relate? In Photoshop, try using all the different tools in the tool bar. See if you can figure out how to do something beyond what I have covered. Part of idea behind this project is to help you discover Photoshop on your own and to help make you secure in just picking up a program and playing instead of being a afraid to try.

Make sure to save your work often. Use the 'Save As' option to save a duplicate of your file (just change the file name). When you are finished with your image go to File --> Save for Web , and save your image as a JPEG, 100% quality. Do not check any other boxes. Save your images using this naming convention: yourname_01.jpg, yourname_02.jpg. (ie... jvonstengel_01.jpg)

whats due:

3 Final printed images 11"x17", saved as "Flattened", full quality JPEG files. Each image needs be labeled with the following naming convention: yourname_01.jpg, yourname_02.jpeg. I will collect all your files in class on a portable hard drive.

Resize your image files to no larger then 1200 piexls on the longest side. Save as 7 quality Jpegs and Upload your images to your flickr account.
